NEW 20000W Motorbike Off Road Electric Motorcycle for Adult

Suspension isn’t something you want as it will allow traction to be broken. The SST uses a single solid set of front forks with a stylish 3 bracket mounting on each side. However, there IS suspension but, it’s a pivot style adjustable spring suspension between the deck and the main stem joint on the scooter.

Electric Scooter For Heavy Person

The Weped SST sports a solid look and feel – and, well, that’s critical when you’ve got something capable of 180mph under your feet. The front brake caliper sits slung down from the front of the fork. Because the wheel and handlebars/stem are not directly impacted by the suspension it allows maximum control. This allows for some marginal travel without impeding handling. Weped have engineered the SST to stay planted to the ground. The deck and neck will counter one another if the front wheel hits a hole / pot hole / bump in the road thanks to the current suspension setup. The SST has a rigid fork structure, meaning there is no suspension between the fork and handlebars. Suspension isn’t something you want as it will allow traction to be broken. The SST uses a single solid set of front forks with a stylish 3 bracket mounting on each side. However, there IS suspension but, it’s a pivot style adjustable spring suspension between the deck and the main stem joint on the scooter.
It would have been nice to have more control over colors but, like other Weped models, the lights are designed to cycle through colors. The rear brake lights are built into the mudguard and like the FF, they are narrow and pulsate during general use with extended brightening once the brakes are applied. There wasn’t anything on the SST that felt sloppy or where the manufacturer had paid less attention. The handlebars are reassuringly firm with no stem wobble, everything feels very tight and machined to tight tolerances. With the Weped SST – you can tell Weped really wanted to make a racing machine that combines power with quality – which is why this model of electric scooter is hard to find / buy, primarily because they are made in smaller batch quantities. On the SST, the front handlebars come slightly further back, they have a long curve that brings the front of the bars inline with the suspension mount. This means the rider doesn’t have to lean too far forward to find a comfy stance on the deck.
On the handlebars, you get the standard volt meter and key and on the right you now have the option of ECO / TURBO mode via buttons on the handlebar. A flat type profile makes leaning far more difficult and less agile. On some scooters the areas where the wheel connects can look fragile (more prone to failure) but on the SST, it’s reassuringly stocky. The SST isn’t overly portable anyway so whilst it folding is a benefit, it’s not going to make it any easier to carry around. The style of the type profile is far more flat with less rounding on the type edges, this means the SST feels more planted at speed, however, fast cornering isn’t something you’ll be able to do at speed. Unlike the FF / Fold, the Weped SST does not fold at the rear, instead you have the standard handlebar folding configuration with the single retractable pin. The frame construction around the wheels is absolutely solid which is reassuring. The wide wheels are impressive – the 11″ kart racing types offer much better traction for this kind of power output. The SST also sports a detachable wheel system making it easier to remove the hubs on the scooter.
Weped have an active patent on their “4 LINK DAMPING” system which is interesting to see. Whilst the set up isn’t exclusive, the way they have integrated it is. To the left of the front suspension mount are the 3 power cables that run from the deck to the front motors / handlebars. The front of the deck sports a large, single suspension column that is a spring load with adjustable shock absorption. On the right is the charging port – again, this uses the same, enlarged 3 pin charging port with a GX16 adapter. When riding the SST it’s very hard, whilst there is suspension it doesn’t provide a great deal of comfort – any bumpy terrain and you’ll feel it more so than on something with more forgiving suspension i.e. the Dualtron X or Bronco 11 Xtreme. The rear suspension is also different on the SST – here we see a single small shock absorb between the rear footrest and the main deck.
The SST deck looks similar to the FF deck (plain grey grip tape). At 70-80 mph there is likely to be a lot of wind resistance which could lead to speed wobble, with a bigger deck riders can position themselves lower with a foot on the back footrest and one foot forward, allowing the user to feel better connected with the scooter. On the sides of the SST you have the same multi color RGB WEPED logo behind a Perspex screen, but, on the SST you also have a line of LED’s that run around the base of the deck for a nice visual effect. There is definitely more foot room / stance room on the SST which is good, it means the rider can find a lower position to stand at when travelling at high speed. On the SST there are a larger number of stainless steel bolts on show, particularly at the back of the deck. On the SST at the back of the deck there is a rear foot rest detached from the deck (separated by a single spring).
Zero continues to improve its build and ride quality, even reducing annoyances, like noise and stem wobble. The included stock stem clamp remains somewhat finicky and requires an iterative process to achieve maximum tightness. The rugged stem clamp stiffens up the stem, makes it easier to achieve optimal clamping, and nearly eliminates stem wobble. You aren’t going to throw this into the back of an Uber, take it on a bus, or carry it up multiple flights of stairs. Offered as a $70 optional accessory, it’s a must-have that is well worth the added expense. One exceptional update to the 2020 design is that the 10X comes with a stem that has welded components to stop stem creaking while riding. It can be a bit tricky to unfasten, but helps make the stem rock solid once secured. We also tested the optional Zero 10X rugged stem folding clamp accessory (easily recognized by its red anodized levers). Coming in at 36 kgs, the Zero 10X is a beefcake.
This type of cabling also means you can swap out other electronic components should they break (or if you want to upgrade them). This means that you can leave your Zero 10X parked outside for quick trips – though we wouldn’t leave it for too long because it could still be rolled away. On the left side of the handlebars are push buttons that control dual/single motor and eco/turbo power modes. Finally, an excellent added touch is a key-start ignition, which disables the scooter from powering on, as with a car. Our Zero 10X (23 Ah) also came with an optional electric vehicle immobilizer alarm (available as a $50 accessory), which allows you to arm your scooter with a motion activated alarm and two remote key fobs. The Zero 10X scooter has deck-mounted front and rear lights. Dual disc brakes are controlled by thick hand levers that feel sturdy. This component requires soldering, so best if professionally installed ahead of shipping.
The scooter is ridden as quickly as is safe and in the fastest (least energy conserving) mode. These are quality, legit brakes, and required no adjustments out of the box. The Zero 10X (18 Ah) delivered 38.5 kilometers. Both models have great range. They are absolutely needed to keep the reins on this dual 1000-watt scooter. The base 18 Ah version has cable-activated disc brakes, while the more premium 23 Ah and 60 V, 21 Ah versions have dual hydraulic disc brakes with massive 160 mm rotors. In the lower speed modes, the range should be much further – perhaps as much as double, depending on your terrain, riding habits, and weight. You can compare this range with other scooters we’ve tested. All Zero 10X variants have dual disc brakes as well as regenerative braking built into the motors. The Zero 10X (23 Ah) has a respectable 41.9 kilometers of range – you’ll likely not need more whether commuting or joyriding.
The clamp on the Zero 10X handlebars is a little difficult to engage, and that’s likely why one of the handlebars gets a little wiggly when riding. The latest 2020 Zero 10X has standard curved handlebars like those you’d find on a mountain bike. With them installed, it’s near impossible to fold the handlebars flush against the scooter. At 67-centimeters. They are wide and give excellent steering control. Also, we noticed that with the key-start ignition and voltmeter in place, it’s difficult to use the folding handlebars, as these components keep the handlebars from folding tight, and parallel to the stem. If you want to make the Zero 10X more portable with the folding handlebars, we recommend you disable and remove the voltmeter and key-start ignition. One other thing to note is that the folding handlebars are straight, and not quite as comfortable as the stock curved handlebars for racing. The cockpit is simple, functional, and well-designed.
