Electric Scooter For Heavy Person

These are the best, longest range scooters based on 2,743.9 kilometers of actual range tests of 84 scooters under identical conditions on a semi-urban route in Berkeley, California, USA. The Burn-E is the first scooter to dethrone the EMOVE Cruiser, the previous range champion. Range alone doesn’t make a great electric scooter. We are the only review site that actually tests electric scooters using accurate and scientifically repeatable methods. The NAMI Burn-E has the longest range of any electric scooter we’ve tested – a formidable 85.8 kilometers. The Burn-E is quickly becoming one of the favorite scooters of the ESG team thanks to its next-level suspension, fantastic performance, and seemingly endless range. Below, we highlight the best long-range scooters from our range leaderboard, excluding models that underperformed or are no longer available. It ticks all the boxes in terms of ride quality, build quality, features, and performance (for those looking for a monster scooter). In addition to having the longest range, the Burn-E (codenamed Viper), also broke numerous performance and is the quickest electric scooter we’ve ever tested.
It weighs 46 kg and has extreme, arm-yanking acceleration. It has one of the best suspensions and braking performances we’ve tested. Ultimately, the OXO is not a scooter for bargain-hunters but those who are looking for quality ride with an innovative (and generally rider-friendly) design. The OXO was somewhat frustrating due to lackluster throttle response and a plastic deck that is indeed slippery when wet. It’s also one of the fastest scooters on the market. One of Chuck’s favorite scooters, the OXO ranked 3rd best, due to its seemingly bottomless 58.9 kilometer range. Though growing somewhat long in the tooth, the (relatively) svelte Mantis Pro has maintained its dominance as a lighter, still fierce, dual-motor beast scooter. It’s so extreme that some will be deterred because it is too powerful. Features like a single-sided swingarm, a very comfortable thumb throttle, hydraulic brakes, and high-mounted lights help sweeten the deal. The huge deck, full suspension, and swappable battery make it a workhorse for riders willing to invest $4,490 . Interestingly, the Storm has become hugely popular among delivery drivers and e-scooter riding messengers.
Its exoskeleton-like hand welded frame, carbon fiber stem and hydraulic suspension try to answer critics who scoff at its $4,499 price tag. This significantly increased top speed and hill-climbing ability while only slightly decreasing range. This is the scooter that you are tired of everyone telling you to buy. The Storm is an over-the-top, dual motor specimen that gets 70.2 kilometers range thanks to its removable 2268 watt hour battery. Though it no longer holds the crown for longest-ranged scooter in the world, the EMOVE Cruiser still remains one of the best. Its sweet ride quality thanks to dual suspension, large pneumatic tires, and giant deck make it a sensible daily commuter. You simply can’t go further or more comfortably at this price. Everything about the Storm is bonkers. The 2021 Cruiser has an new, more powerful 1000-watt motor. Bonus features like semi-hydraulic brakes, keyed ignition, turn signals, IPX6 water-resistance rating, and electronic horn make what would be a good scooter great.
Its array of practical features, comfortable deck size and build quality (typically including a 2-year Apollo warranty – though check details from your particular retailer) really mean that no one could go wrong buying this scooter. And keep some money in your pocketbook. Perhaps not the most exciting scooter out there, sometimes the “boring” choice is the one that will put the biggest smile on your face. It’s no surprise that it landed a spot as one of the best long range scooters out there. You know the electric scooter leaderboard is strong when the shortest-ranged scooter is the venerable Ninebot Max that delivered a not-so-small 45.2-kilometer range. It is as reliable as a hammer, has unstoppable pneumatic tires, and was even used by Graham Pollard and Co. to complete a 6,440 kilometer electric scooter journey across America. The Ninebot Max has received more accolades than nearly any other scooter in existence. At the typical $1,199 MSRP the Explore is a bargain, but if you can score an additional coupon (check ours) or catch it on sale, it’s an absolute steal.
Sure, there are newer and shinier variants like the Wolf King that eek out more range, but classic Warrior 11 holds its own a very capable long-range scooter. The as yet, unreleased Phantom Ludicrous, is a juiced-up version of most-anticipated scooter of the year – the Apollo Phantom. Though the ESG team thinks of this scooter as a fairly tame and practical commuter, most riders will find that it has more than enough speed and acceleration to be fun. Its larger, 1260 wh battery has elevated the respectable 50.6 kilometer range of the 52 V Phantom to place-deserving 45.9 kilometers. Despite rounding out the bottom of the range leaderboard, it still delivered a marathon-like 45.2 kilometers of range. Apollo fanatics will have to wait just a bit longer to get their hands on this machine, but its Summer 2021 release will be well worth it for many. Equipped with beefed-up controllers, the Phantom Ludo also earned a spot as one of the fastest electric scooters. The Explore is the Swiss Army Knife of electric scooters – balanced, affordable, great for many uses and different rider types.
Minimotors once represented the best quality in the industry, but newer, cheaper, and frankly better scooters are proving fierce competition. In addition to range, the RoadRunner is no slouch when it comes to performance – clocking an impressive 57.2 kmh top speed and 0 to 40 kmh of 9.6 seconds. The 27.9-centimeter air-filled tires and dual suspension (including a hydraulic fork) give this scooter next-level ride quality. Its ESG-tested 48.6-kilometer range secures it a spot as one of the best long range electric scooters. This 45-kilo scooter is rock solid with one of the sturdiest, zero-wobble stems in the game. The EMOVE RoadRunner is the longest-ranged seated electric scooter we’ve ever tested. Though shipping officially in Summer ’21, we were able to get our hands on a pre-release version of the RoadRunner and scored a respectable 53.1 kilometers during our range test. The built-in seat, thumb throttle, bicycle-sized 36.8-centimeter tires make this seated scooter supremely comfortable when you want to go the distance.
Few scooters would survive that trip. We range test every electric scooter under standardized conditions to allow fair comparisons between scooters. If you have range anxiety you can learn about maximizing your range and battery life in this article. Our test track is located in Berkeley, California, USA and consists of a 3 kilometer loop in dense suburbs with 31 m of elevation change and 7 stops. Our methods are devised to give conservative range estimates. Only those doing prolonged top speed runs or other extreme riding will find they get shorter range than we measure. Scooter ridden as fast as safely possible in the fastest, least energy-conserving mode. Trip data is processed using Racelogic Circuit Tools and a custom Python script to compute average speed, when moving. All range tests are logged with a professional Racelogic GPS data logger. Most owners will find that their scooter’s range, during typical use, exceeds what we record.
It is a direct competitor to pricier Dualtron models such as the Spider that are favored by riders looking for lighter beast scooters. Not only is the Wolf King the fastest scooter we’ve ever tested, with a recorded top speed of 95.6 kmh, it also has stamina. There is a lot to love about the Wolf King. Though not cheap, we think $2,999 is a tremendous value for one of the best scooters out there. The King marked its spot on the range leaderboard by achieving a final distance of 53.8 kilometers. When it first arrived on the market, it was an unbeatable performance value. The Eagle Pro’s simple, elegant, yet effective rubber suspension combined with dual motors supply 1800 watts of power landed it a spot as one of this year’s best electric scooters. Despite arrival of newer scooters, it still remains competitive thanks to its tested 54.3-kilometer range, 59.6 kmh top speed, Minimotors EY3 throttle, and fully-hydraulic brakes.
Most electric scooter and bike battery chargers have a green light and a red light. When the red light turns off and only the green light is on that indicates that the battery pack is charged and the vehicle is ready to use. If the charger light stays green and there is no red light when the charger is plugged into the vehicle and into the wall this could be caused by many things. It could be from new batteries that have never been used and have a full charge, worn out batteries with low Voltage that need to be replaced, a loose wire or defective connector between the battery pack and charger port, a defective charger port or battery charger plug, a burned out fuse in the charger, or a defective battery charger. When the charger is plugged into the vehicle and into the wall the red light indicates that the battery pack is charging, and the green light indicates that the charger is plugged into the wall.

However just because the battery pack has the right Voltage at the charger port that does not mean that it is good because its Voltage may drop under load when the vehicle is on causing the vehicle to not operate. The reason chargers will not recharge bad battery packs is because charging them could cause them to overheat, swell, and possibly leak which could cause damage to the scooter or its surroundings. Battery packs that do not bounce back to their normal Voltage range after being used are defective and most battery chargers will not charge them if they detect this. The battery pack’s Voltage could be tested at the charger port with the vehicle on and throttle engaged to see if it drops Voltage under load. If the battery packs Voltage is lower than the Voltage of the vehicle then that could cause the battery charger to not charge the batteries and the red light to not turn on. Good battery packs will always bounce back to their normal Voltage range within a few minutes after being used.
